Bioenergy strategy for cost-effective decarbonization, strong communities, and healthy ecosystems

We are systems thinkers. We work at the interface of the energy, forestry, agriculture, and waste sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower costs, and improve environmental outcomes.

Over the past 14 years, TorchLight has delivered over 80 projects for clients in Canada and abroad. We develop strategies, plans, and projects based upon techno-economic assessment combined with a deep understanding of markets and climate/energy policy.

We do not believe humans can be isolated from nature. We believe, that in a changing climate, companies and communities have the ability to improve environmental outcomes by taking an active role in ecosystem management. Bioenergy serves as a key part of ecosystem and waste management by providing a market for low-grade material.

As companies and communities seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, remain competitive, and eliminate energy poverty, it is essential they consider bioenergy, and in particular bioheat, as a primary pillar of their actions.

With a 60% share of the renewable energy market in the European Union, bioenergy is making the greatest contribution to decarbonization and economic activity of any renewable energy resource. In Canada, bioenergy provides five times the energy as wind and solar combined.

We know it works. We know it is affordable. But we also know it isn’t always simple.

Work with Nature. Work with Us.
